Perfect Size and Efficiency
The size of your air conditioner is an important factor for operating at optimum efficiency. An unit that is too small will never turn off and will not be able to keep your home sufficiently cool. An oversized system will cycle more often that necessary which wastes expensive energy. Window dimensions, exposure, floor space, insulation, and local climate are just a few of the factors that a good contractor will consider when determining the optimum size air conditioner unit for your home. Currently, the best practice is to have a refrigeration ton per 400 square feet. (Ex. A 1,600 square feet home would use a 4 ton air conditioner).
